Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your personal data under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Plain English, no dark patterns.

Last updated: 12 July 2026

1. Who we are

This website is operated by BELAVIN LIMITED (trading as GuruSoftwares), a company registered in England & Wales. Company number 16735157. We are the data controller for any personal data you provide to us through this website.

Contact us about anything in this policy: hello@gurusoftwares.co.uk.

2. What we collect

We only collect data you actively send us through the contact form or by emailing us:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Company or project name (optional)
  • The service you are interested in and an estimated budget range (optional)
  • The content of your message

If you consent via our cookie banner, we also use cookie-based analytics and advertising measurement (Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads) — see section 6. Until you consent, these run in a privacy-preserving mode that sets no cookies and does not identify you. We do not use fingerprinting or session-recording tools. Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, referrer, request path) are kept by our hosting provider Netlify for security and abuse prevention.

3. Why we collect it (lawful basis)

We process your data on the following lawful bases under UK GDPR Article 6:

  • Article 6(1)(b) — Contract / pre-contractual steps: to respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote, and discuss a possible engagement.
  • Article 6(1)(f) — Legitimate interests: to keep records of business communications and protect our website from abuse.

We will never add you to a marketing list or send you promotional email without your separate, explicit consent.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing purposes. We use a small number of trusted processors to operate the site:

  • Netlify, Inc. — hosting and form delivery (US, with UK GDPR Standard Contractual Clauses).
  • Google Fonts — web fonts (loaded from fonts.googleapis.com; no cookies are set).
  • Google (Google Analytics 4 & Google Ads) — website analytics and advertising conversion measurement, only after you consent via our cookie banner (US, with UK GDPR Standard Contractual Clauses). See section 6.
  • Our email provider for receiving form submissions and replying to you.

We may disclose information if legally required (court order, regulator request, etc.), but only the minimum necessary.

5. How long we keep it

Enquiry data is kept for as long as needed to handle your request and any resulting project, and for up to 24 months after our last contact for record-keeping. After that, it is deleted unless we have a legal obligation to keep it longer (e.g. tax records, where HMRC requires up to 6 years).

6. Cookies & consent

When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept cookies. Nothing beyond what is strictly necessary runs until you make a choice.

Strictly necessary (no consent required): technical cookies set by Netlify for security (e.g. CSRF tokens for the contact form), and a small entry in your browser’s local storage that simply remembers your cookie choice. These are exempt from consent under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

Only with your consent:

  • Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-NPBGZD3XZL) — measures how many people visit, where they come from, and which pages they view, so we can improve the site.
  • Google Ads (tag AW-18041741150) — measures whether visitors who arrive from our adverts complete the contact form (conversion tracking), and may be used for remarketing.

We use Google Consent Mode v2. Before you consent, these tags load in a cookieless mode that stores no cookies and does not identify you. If you select “Accept all”, they set cookies to measure your visit; if you select “Decline”, they stay in cookieless mode.

Our lawful basis for these optional cookies is your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and PECR). You can withdraw consent at any time: clear this site’s cookies and site data in your browser (or contact us), and the banner will appear again on your next visit so you can choose again.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectify inaccurate data
  • Request deletion (the “right to be forgotten”)
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Receive your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the lawful basis

To exercise any of these, email hello@gurusoftwares.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days.

If you believe we have mishandled your data, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally to reflect changes in our practices or in the law. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will always reflect the current version. Material changes will be highlighted at the top of this page for at least 30 days.
